Bioregional Festival 2025

About
This bioregional festival is a celebration of the land, people, and life in our corner of Transylvania. It’s a space where farmers, residents, young and old, artists, nature lovers come together to celebrate. This year our theme is: biodiversity, as it is very close the the World Biodiversity Day.
We see biodiversity as not only taking care and acknowledging our land, the plants, flowers, different species and looking after the animals. We see taking care of the people around us, our community, as a very important factor for a rich biodiversity.
Workshop facilitators
Are you a wood carver? Or you know a lot about natural remedies, biodiversity or ecological agriculture? Or want to tell a story, lead a debate, or teach us how to dance?
Then leading a (30 minute or max 1 hour) workshop is definitely your place to be in!
We have limited spaces, so if you are interested let us know the latest by May 1st, here.
Alternative Market Sellers
Are you selling your own products? Would you be open to sell a few of your products in exchange for anything else than money? What could this be: it’s really up to you, another product, experience exchange, some hours of support, a poem – it’s for you to figure out and see what feels good!

Keep in mind – this is an experimental initiative, so we are looking for open-minded people.
Volunteers
Do you have an urge to contribute to the event? Become a volunteer! We value our volunteers because they help us keep order – for example, by cleaning some dishes, putting up some decorations, carrying some things, cleaning up after the party.
If you have this itch of support, we would love to have you in our team! Sign up.
But you know what? What if you just want to come and enjoy this event? Well, amazing! Then come, participate, taste our famous goulash, have a look at the ALPA film screening, meet other people in our bioregion, enjoy the music. We would love to see you in Alunisu!
There is one rule: Let’s have fun!
For the sake of this, we also invite people to dress-up as something while keeping biodiversity in mind: a flower, an animal, another person in the party!
Entry fee:
As mentioned above, because it is a community event we would love that you bring your own food! It can be your favourite, but a basket of carrots are well appreciated, or bread, your favorite syrup even. Potluck!!

Practicals
Entry fee: your favourite dish (as we will have a potluck)
Arrival & Departure:
- The very best is if you can arrive around 12:00
- We provide a programme up until dinner, from which afterwards we will have live music, fire and a more informal part. Please feel free to stay overnight. However, the next day we do not have any programme
Travel: everyone is responsible for their own travel.
People who come from Cluj with the bus you can arrive until Huedin – from where you can hitchhike to Alunisu

Accommodation: if you wish you can put down you tent, or book a place in the many places in Sancraiu (Szentkiraly)
Food: potluck!
